What makes good Branding?

In our last blog about branding, we talked about just what this word “branding” means, at least in the verb form. We talked about how it’s important to have a consistent image across all forms of communication, be it printed material, signage and other visual representations of your business.

But what makes a good branding package (and how does The Belford Group accomplish this?)

A good branding package:

  • Remains consistent across all forms of representation from the logo to printed materials and use in ads;
  • Evokes a positive emotional response from your target audience;
  • Motivates people to purchase your product or service;
  • Gives a sense of business credibility;
  • Conveys your corporate culture; and
  • Encourages customer loyalty through recognition.

What social media platform works for you?

A few weeks ago, we talked about the “five types and the whys” of your business having a consistent social media presence.

But is it really necessary to incorporate all five forms of social media into a social media marketing plan? Our position at The Belford Groupis, no. You do need to use more than one social media platform, but trying to use all five forms is both unnecessary and unwieldy. Trying to juggle too many proverbial social media balls will just make you drop a ball at some point.

Printing still has a place!

In this age of “going green” it might seem like having printed marketing materials is passé at best and possibly a bad business decision.

We at The Belford Group disagree. Printed marketing materials are still a viable, even essential component to a strong and effective marketing plan. We agree that the manner and frequency of using printed materials has drastically changed, but instead of seeing that as a downfall, we see it as an opportunity for our clients to better target the printed materials they do use. What is … SEO?

In recent weeks, we’ve been looking at The Belford Group’s six service areas and sharing more about what each service includes—and what it means for our clients. This blog is the final entry in that series. Join us as we talk spiders and humans … the two key audiences in SEO.

We’ve all seen the Bing ads that claim to be a cure for “Search Overload Syndrome.” The characters will hear a word and start spouting random, seemingly unrelated words that then spawn more seemingly unrelated lists of topics.

What is … Graphic Design?

In recent weeks, we’ve been looking at The Belford Group’s six service areas and sharing more about what each service includes—and what it means for our clients. This week, we’re taking a look—literally—at our most visual service…Graphic Design.

The idea of graphic design is far from new, it was important before computers opened the door to creating more technical and attractive designs for a growing number of functions.

It has a job

Graphic design has a job to do. It conveys a non-verbal, visual message about your business or organization across many media. Your graphics are more than likely going to be someone’s first impression of your business or organization. We all know it’s important to make a good first impression, right? This means it’s vital to have professional and consistent graphics in all your printed materials, on your website and in other materials that represent your brand. Continue reading
